The Mini Shova

Warren And Sharon Riding The Amashova

My mom picked us up at 5am on Sunday and took us and the bikes to the start of the race. Thankfully the rain from the night before had taken the day off so it looked like the perfect weather for riding…overcast and cool. In fact the only concerning factor was the wet, slippery roads.

The start through Hillcrest was a little slow but once we hit the M13 things really took off. Riding down Fields Hill was awesome other than when the guy in front of me came off at over 60kms/hr. Fail! The 38km route took us 1:15 with the only real climb being up 45th Cutting. And although I was still feeling a little sick and blocked up, the high speeds forced air into my lungs so all was good.

When I phoned my mom to pick us up she was still relaxing at home (clearly she had under-rated out awesomeness). We rode over to Windsor Park golf course where we watched the guys teeing off until she picked us up.
